Major Update!

My posts have been lacking lately!! This is my major update, a collection of the work ive done since the end of march..
May will mark my sixth month since ive started my business... I think ive come a long way since then!

Bee Cupcakes

Packaged and ready to go!

Garden Cake

The client really wanted to give her mom something special and personalized for her birthday... she decided on a gardening theme since it`s one of her mother`s favourite hobbies! We incorporated gardening gloves, a clay pot with a rose, some chocolate cake crumbled up for "dirt", a seed packet, some sunflowers, and even an orange tabby! This cake took about 10 hours to complete.

Side View of seed packet, we named the species of rose after the client's mother's grandson.

TTC rocket subway cake topper

This was commissoned by the toronto transit commission for a retirement party. It was made of rice cereal covered in two layers of fondant and painted in silver petal dust and vodka. This probably took about 5 hours to complete... Each window and door was hand cut out of black fondant and hand painted with white petal dust and vodka. The ttc logo was hand drawn, although i think next time i might trace an actual logo for more accuracy.

Baby boy baptism cake and cookie favours.

This cake was a challenge for me, not because of the complexity of the decor, but the type of cake requested. This was my first time using carrot cake in a tiered cake and i had lots of problems with the structure holding up.. If anyone has a recipe for carrot cake that can hold it's shape under the weight of fondant, please share!! Until then, carrot is off the menu for stacked cakes!!
